Sunbelt Rentals

Sunbelt Rentals runs one of the largest rental fleets in North America, and equips much of it with telematics that report on the machine's real condition. Clue reads that feed, so you see how hard a Sunbelt machine is actually working while it is on your rate. Hours, idle time and fuel tell you whether a unit is earning its keep or waiting to be sent back.

Rental utilization in Clue comparing operating hours on owned and rented machines

Power Up with Sunbelt Rentals

Sunbelt machines report how much they actually work. Clue reads that data so you can tell a hard working rental from one that has been parked for two weeks. That is the difference between a rental that pays for itself and one you should have called off.

Sunbelt Rentals Integration Features

  • Compare operating hours against idle hours on every Sunbelt unit, and find the ones that stopped working.
  • See where a Sunbelt machine actually sits, so a unit left on a finished job does not stay on hire.
  • Watch fuel used and fuel remaining to understand the running cost behind the rental rate.
  • Use odometer and distance readings to check whether a rented truck or trailer is being used as planned.
  • Read engine status to confirm a machine is running on the days you are paying for it.
  • Build the case for calling a rental off with the vendor's own numbers, not an estimate.

How the Sunbelt Rentals integration works

Clue connects to Sunbelt Rentals through its Customer Equipment Snapshot API and refreshes through the day. The connection is read only, so nothing Clue does changes your Sunbelt account.

Sunbelt reports on the AEMP industry standard, the same standard Clue already reads from OEM and other rental sources. That means a Sunbelt machine is not just a line on a rental sheet. It reports what it is actually doing, so you can judge whether it is earning its rate.

What syncs today

  • Location. Where each unit on hire actually sits, so a machine left on a finished job does not quietly stay on hire.
  • Operating hours and idle hours. Cumulative readings on every unit that reports them, so working time and standing time are two separate numbers rather than one.
  • Odometer and distance. For rented trucks, trailers and anything that moves on the road.
  • Fuel and DEF. Fuel used, fuel remaining and DEF level, which is the running cost sitting behind the rental rate.
  • Engine status. Whether the machine is actually running on the days you are paying for it.

What this changes day to day

  • A parked rental shows up in hours rather than at the end of the month.
  • Utilization reports cover rented machines next to owned ones, so the comparison is real.
  • The case for sending a machine back is the vendor's own data, not an estimate.
  • Your crews inspect and track a Sunbelt machine exactly as they would an owned one.
  • Every unit the feed reports gets a rental line on its own, so new machines are not missed.
