New at CLUE: Whichever Comes First Services Now Work in PM Trigger Chains

Maintenance Management
October 2, 2026

Services set up as “hours or miles, whichever comes first” can now be part of a preventive maintenance trigger chain. Your 400-hour / 10,000-mile service can trigger your 2,400-hour / 60,000-mile service, and the bigger service comes due on the right cycle.

PM plan with an A service and a C service in a trigger chain, and the Whichever Comes First switch turned on

What’s New?

  • Link services that use hours or miles, whichever comes first, in a trigger chain
  • Hours and miles each count their own cycles
  • The triggered service comes due when the first meter reaches its occurrence count

Open a PM plan, go to Service Schedule, set Combine Mode to Trigger and turn on Allow “Whichever Comes First” Services in Trigger Chains. Then pick the trigger in Triggered By on any service.

C service set to 2,400 hours or 60,000 miles, triggered by every sixth A service
