Available now on Beta, This feature is in beta testing and will roll out to everyone soon.
What is this?
Each watchdog looks for one kind of problem. This guide explains the watchdogs in the Library. Use it to decide which ones to turn on. Your Library can show a different set, based on your company.
Who's this for?
- Fleet and equipment managers, who choose which watchdogs to run.
- Maintenance managers, who rely on the service and repair watchdogs.
- Project managers and payroll, who use the job and timecard watchdogs.
How to use it
Step 1: Browse by category
Go to Insights > Watchdogs > Library. Click a category, such as Rentals or Maintenance, to show only those watchdogs.
Step 2: Read how a watchdog works
Click a card. What triggers this and Data it needs explain the watchdog in plain words.
Step 3: See which watchdog raised an alert
On the Alerts tab, the Watchdog column shows which watchdog found each issue.
The full details
- Owned Replacement Available: you rent a unit while one of your own units of the same type sits idle nearby.
- Expensive Vendor Used: a rental vendor charges much more than other vendors for similar equipment.
- Equipment Not Seen: an owned unit has not reported a GPS location for a set number of days.
- PM Priority Alert: a unit is overdue for preventive maintenance and is also working hard.
- DOT Inspection Due: a unit's annual DOT inspection is coming due or is overdue.
- Noise Violation: a planned dispatch will break the job site's local night noise limit.
- Repeat Repair: a unit has 3 or more fault codes for the same failure within 90 days.
- Theft Risk: a unit left one of your geofences, stopped just outside it and stayed there.
- Asset Not Moved: an active unit shows no operating movement for a set number of days.
- Idle On Active Job: a unit on an active project worked on very few of the recent tracked days.
- Unexplained Downtime: a unit sits idle on a project with no open work order or planned service.
- Fuel Anomaly: a unit's highest daily fuel use is far above its own daily average.
- Punch Outside Geofence: a clock in or clock out happened outside the job site's geofence.
- Timecard Hours Exceed Job Window: the hours on a timecard are more than the GPS-stamped time on the job.
Tips
- Watchdogs with the Public tag are standard. Others were built for your company.
- Each watchdog needs the right data to work. Check Data it needs before you turn one on.
- Start with a few watchdogs. Add more when your team keeps up with the alerts.
