What exactly is VisionLink?

VisionLink is a telematics platform, built by Caterpillar and Trimble. It's predominately used to track Caterpillar assets, but can also be used to connect assets from other manufacturers. Clue offers full support for VisionLink.

How do I connect to my Caterpillar equipment using VisionLink?

If you purchased a Caterpillar equipment after 2017, it most probably already contains the telematics hardware required for VisionLink. Call your Cat dealer to enquire whether you're already paying for VisionLink or reach out to Clue for help.

How much does VisionLink cost?

VisionLink costs vary between $0 and $20 per month for each connected asset. The monthly cost is determined by your Cat dealer. In addition to paying a monthly fee for VisionLink, your asset needs to have a connected Product Link device. Product Link is pre-installed on most Cat models since 2015.

How can I track my Caterpillar equipment?

You can track your Caterpillar equipment using my.cat.com, VisionLink, and Clue.

Can I track my old Caterpillar equipment?

Yes. You can use Clue to track older Caterpillar equipment even if does not have a Product Link device.

Can I use VisionLink to track non-Caterpillar equipment?

Yes. You can use VisionLink to connect to the telematics data of some equipment manufacturers other than Caterpillar. Companies like Clue offer a comprehensive support for all major manufacturers.

Where can I find my VisionLink username?

Your VisionLink username is typically your corporate email address. If you do not remember what it is, visit VisionLink's website and check if it is saved in your browser's history. If it is not, contact your Cat dealer or reach out to Clue for help.

How do I reset my VisionLink password?

Visit VisionLink's website and tap the Forgot Password link. If you're having issues resetting your password, reach out to Clue for help.

How can I give someone API access to my Caterpillar and VisionLink telematics data?

To provide 3rd party API access to your VisionLink telematics data, reach out to Clue for assistance. You can also download the Clue app and connect your Caterpillar equipment directly in the app.

Who do I contact to enable AEMP 2.0 access to my VisionLink telematics data?

In most cases, reach out to your Caterpillar dealer. They will in turn create a service request with VisionLink, to generate a unique set of username and password, also known as API credentials. If your dealer is unable to assist, please contact Clue for assistance.
