The Assignment Calendar gives you a timeline view of where an asset has been assigned over time. Use it to review project history, spot overlaps, and see when equipment may be free for the next job.
This view is useful when you need a quick answer to where an asset has been, where it is booked, and whether there is any open time between assignments. It also fits naturally with Managing Your Asset Directory, Assigning Assets to Projects, and Understanding Asset Detail View.
The calendar shows project assignments over time, making it easier to plan future deployments and check scheduling before assigning equipment to a new job.
Open the calendar from the asset record so you can review assignments alongside the rest of that asset’s details. This makes it easier to check assignment history before making a change.
Open the asset list from the main menu. This is the same place used in Managing Your Asset Directory.
Select the asset you want to review. This opens the full asset record, including tabs for history, maintenance, and assignments.
Click the Assignment Calendar tab to open the timeline view for that asset. The calendar shows past and current project assignments in one place.
The calendar is built to be easy to scan. It gives you a clear picture of when an asset was assigned and where gaps exist between projects.
Project assignments appear as color-coded bars, date ranges show when the assignment started and ended, and blank spaces show time when the asset was not assigned anywhere. This is also a natural place to connect readers to Assigning Assets to Projects if they need to make an update after reviewing the timeline.
Use the calendar controls to move through different time ranges and focus on the period you want to review. This helps whether you are checking this week’s schedule or looking back at older assignment history.
You can scroll left or right to see past or future assignments, switch the time scale between week, month, and quarter, and jump to a specific date when needed.
The Assignment Calendar helps you catch problems before they create confusion in the field. It gives you a simple way to review how an asset has been booked over time.
Use the timeline to spot overlapping assignments, long gaps where the asset was not assigned, and upcoming windows where it may be available again. This section also pairs well with Using the Planner View and Using the Dispatch Board when your team is planning work across more than one asset.
A quick review of the calendar can save time when dispatching equipment or checking availability. It is especially useful before assigning an asset to a new project or reviewing how often it has been used over time.
