Overview

Understanding the work order workflow helps you track maintenance tasks from creation to completion.

Work Order Detail View

Click on any work order row to open the detail panel on the right side.

Detail Panel Sections

  • Header - Asset identifier and status badge
  • Performance - Operating hours, idle rate, fuel consumption for the asset
  • Asset Details - Engine hours, odometer readings
  • Work Orders - List of work orders for this asset with quick access to each

Work Order Statuses

Work orders progress through these statuses:

  • To Do - Work order created, waiting to be started
  • In Progress - Mechanic is actively working on the repair
  • On Hold - Waiting for parts or additional information
  • Completed - Work finished and verified

Updating Status

Use the status dropdown at the top of the detail panel to update the work order progress.

Adding Notes and Updates

  • Add comments to document progress
  • Log time spent on repairs via the Timecards tab
  • Attach photos of completed work
  • Track parts used via the Parts tab

Tips

  • Always add comments when changing status to explain what happened
  • Log time as you work to ensure accurate cost tracking
  • Mark work orders as On Hold if waiting for parts
