Work Order Status Workflow

Every work order moves through a defined status workflow. Understanding these statuses helps you track progress.

Status Types

  • To Do - Work order created but not started
  • In Progress - Mechanic has started the work
  • On Hold - Work paused (waiting for parts, approval, etc.)
  • Done - Work completed
  • Cancelled - Work order cancelled

Changing Status

To update a work order status:

  1. Open the work order details
  2. Click the status dropdown at the top
  3. Select the new status
  4. Add a comment explaining the change (recommended)

Tracking Progress

The work orders table shows status with color-coded badges. Filter by status to see only active, completed, or pending work.

Days Open Counter

Each work order shows how many days it has been open. Use this to identify aging work orders that need attention.
