Using the Assignment Calendar

Overview

The Assignment Calendar provides a visual timeline of where your assets have been assigned over time. Use it to track project assignments, identify scheduling conflicts, and plan future deployments.

Accessing the Assignment Calendar

Step 1: Navigate to DIRECTORY → Assets.

Step 2: Click on any asset to open its detail panel.

Step 3: Select the "Assignment Calendar" tab.

Reading the Calendar View

The calendar displays:

  • Project assignments - Color-coded bars showing which project the asset was assigned to
  • Date ranges - Start and end dates for each assignment
  • Assignment gaps - Periods when the asset wasn't assigned anywhere

Navigating Time Periods

Use the calendar controls to:

  • Scroll left/right to view past or future assignments
  • Change the time scale (week, month, quarter)
  • Jump to specific dates

Identifying Conflicts

The calendar helps identify:

  • Overlapping assignments (asset scheduled at two places)
  • Underutilized periods (long gaps between assignments)
  • Upcoming availability windows

Tips

  • Compare multiple assets' calendars when planning dispatches
  • Use the calendar to verify an asset is available before creating a new dispatch
  • Historical assignments help understand equipment utilization patterns
