What is this?

A visual view of your company's organizational structure. If your company has regions, divisions, or branches, this page shows how they are arranged. The hierarchy drives data visibility: people in a sub-organization only see the equipment and data assigned to their level.

Who is this for?

  • Admins - Set up and manage your company's org structure. Control who sees what data.
  • Regional Managers - Understand how your region fits into the larger company structure.

How to use it

Step 1: Open Organization Hierarchy

Go to Company Settings in the sidebar and click Organization Hierarchy. The tree shows your company at the top with sub-organizations underneath.

Step 2: Manage sub-organizations

Click any node in the tree to see its details. You can create new sub-organizations, edit existing ones, or reorganize the structure. Up to 3 levels of nesting are supported.

The full details

  • Works on: Web app
  • Location: Company Settings > Organization Hierarchy
  • Max 3 levels deep: Company > Region/Division > Branch/Location
  • Drives data visibility: Users assigned to a sub-org only see equipment, people, and projects at their level
  • Admin access required to modify the hierarchy

Tips

  • Match your real org chart. If you have 3 regions with 5 shops each, set it up that way. Do not create arbitrary groupings.
  • Assign equipment to the right level. A dozer at the Denver shop should be under the Denver sub-org, not floating at the company level.
