Overview

When fault codes or inspection issues require repair, create a work order directly from the issue to ensure proper tracking and resolution. This links the issue to the repair work.

Creating a Work Order from an Inspection Issue

Step 1: Navigate to MAINTENANCE → Inspection Issues.

Step 2: Find and click on the issue you want to address.

Step 3: In the issue detail, look for "Create Work Order" button.

Step 4: The work order form opens pre-filled with:

  • Asset name
  • Issue description
  • Reported severity

Step 5: Complete remaining fields (assignee, priority, due date).

Step 6: Save the work order.

Creating from Fault Codes

Step 1: Navigate to MAINTENANCE → Fault Codes.

Step 2: Click on the fault code to view details.

Step 3: Click "Create Work Order" to generate a repair ticket.

Benefits of Linked Work Orders

When work orders are created from issues:

  • Issue is automatically linked to the work order
  • Completing the work order can resolve the issue
  • Full traceability from problem to resolution
  • Reporting shows issue-to-resolution times

What Gets Pre-Filled

  • Asset information
  • Issue description becomes work order description
  • Severity may set priority
  • Original reporter information

Tips

  • Review the pre-filled information before saving
  • Add additional details the mechanic needs to know
  • Set appropriate priority based on severity
