Parts management view

Request parts when you need something for a repair that isn't in stock or needs to be ordered.

When to Create a Request

  • Part is out of stock
  • Need a part not normally kept in inventory
  • Special order items
  • Large quantity orders

Creating a Parts Request

  1. Go to Parts Management
  2. Click New Request
  3. Enter request details:
    • Part Name/Number
    • Description
    • Quantity Needed
    • Work Order (optional - links request to repair)
    • Urgency - Normal, High, Critical
    • Notes - Special instructions
  4. Click Submit Request

From a Work Order

  1. Open the work order
  2. Go to Parts tab
  3. Click Request Part
  4. Part is auto-linked to the work order

Request Statuses

  • Pending - Awaiting approval
  • Approved - Ready to order
  • Ordered - Purchase order placed
  • Received - Part arrived
  • Cancelled - Request cancelled

Tips

  • Include part numbers when known
  • Specify correct quantity to avoid delays
  • Note urgency clearly for critical repairs
