Vendor Portal: keep your rate sheets current

What is this?

The Vendor Portal is where your rental vendors work with you inside Clue. They answer quote requests, and they keep their own rate sheets up to date. When a vendor uploads a rate sheet, Clue reads it automatically. You see those rates in your Rentals, read-only, always current.

How to use it

Step 1: Open the Rate Book

In the portal, open Rate Book. Each customer has its own section. Books are marked Active or Expired, so the current one is always clear.

Step 2: Upload a rate sheet

Click Upload Rate Sheet and choose your file. Clue shows a moving Reading your rate sheet note while it works, then opens the parsed rates for you to check.

Step 3: Check, fix, and re-run

Every row is editable. The Source column shows what Clue read from your sheet. If the read missed something, type a note in Parsing Instructions and click Re-Run With These Instructions. Clue reads the same file again and follows your note.

• Where: The Vendor Portal, Rate Book tab.
• File types: PDF, image, Excel, and CSV.
• One active book per customer: A new upload becomes the active book. The previous one moves to Expired.
• Parsing Instructions: Saved for your account and applied to every future upload, so you only write them once.
• Original always kept: Use View Original Sheet to open the exact file you uploaded. Use Export CSV to download the rates.
• Deactivate: The trash icon removes a book from your customer's view. This cannot be undone from the portal.

Tips

• Write one good parsing note. For example, "The Monthly column comes first." Clue remembers it for next time.
• Change the asset type right in the grid. Clue matches each line to a real asset type, with icons.
• Expired books are read-only. To update pricing, upload a fresh sheet rather than editing an old one.
