Preventive Maintenance helps you stay ahead of equipment issues by tracking scheduled service based on time or usage. In CLUE, the PM area is split into two main views: PM Status for what is due now, and PM Plans for the service schedules behind it.

Overview

Use PM to see what needs attention today, what is coming up soon, and which service plans are assigned across your fleet. This is also a strong place to connect readers to Understanding PM Status vs PM Plans, Viewing PM Status for Your Fleet, and Creating a New PM Plan.

CLUE tracks PM based on time or usage intervals, so your team can stay on top of service before issues turn into breakdowns. The two main views work together: PM Status shows what is due, and PM Plans shows how those schedules are set up.

PM Status

The PM Status view helps you see the current condition of your fleet’s preventive maintenance. It is the best place to check what is overdue, what is coming up soon, and what is still in good standing.

Status Summary Cards

At the top of the page, three status cards give you a quick view of fleet PM health. They show Overdue, Upcoming, and Good Standing items, and you can click the cards to filter the list faster.

  • Overdue - PMs that have passed their due date or usage threshold
  • Upcoming - PMs that are getting close to due
  • Good Standing - PMs that are not due yet

Header Actions

The top of the screen includes a few tools to help you work through the list faster. You can search for assets or PM items, filter by status or plan, share the view, and download the PM data to Excel.

Table Columns

The PM Status table shows the asset, the PM plan, the specific PM item, the current status, the interval, and the current usage or time since the last service. On some PM views, CLUE also shows remaining time or usage and whether a work order already exists.

Viewing PM Details

Open any row in PM Status to see more detail for that asset. This helps you review the full service picture before creating or updating a work order.

The detail panel shows the asset identifier, the PM services tied to that asset, progress toward the service threshold, and the last reset date. This is also a natural internal linking spot for Creating and Managing Work Orders if readers need the next step after reviewing what is due.

PM Plans

The PM Plans view is where you manage the schedules behind the PM Status screen. It defines what service is needed, when it is due, and which assets use that plan.

Switch to the PM Plans tab to view or update your maintenance schedules. This view shows the plan name, status, description, number of services, number of assigned assets, and other assignment details. It is a strong place to link to Creating a New PM Plan and Setting PM Intervals.

Click Add PM Plan when you need to create a new schedule. PM plans define what service is included, how often it is due, and which assets or asset types it applies to.

Tips

A few simple habits make PM easier to manage and help prevent missed service. The goal is to keep the overdue list short and make it easy for the team to act on what matters first.

  • Check the Overdue card daily so you can deal with critical items first.
  • Use the status cards and filters to narrow the list before planning work.
  • Download the PM view when you need to share a report with managers or planners.
  • Build PM plans by equipment type so service stays consistent across similar assets.
  • Link this workflow to Creating and Managing Work Orders so overdue PMs move into action faster.
