Maintenance management

Open Clue and your queue is right there. The shop manager assigns each WO with priority, equipment details, and any notes from the operator. Every ticket is right there, ready to work.
Assigned queue: See every work order assigned to you in one list
Work order details: View equipment, priority, status, shop, and operator notes before starting
Priority chips: Spot high, medium, and low priority work in the queue
Reported issue: Read the operator's problem and notes with each work order
Repair status: Start the repair and track its current stage from one screen

Capture what you found, what you fixed, and what parts you used, all on your phone. Attach photos of worn components, add diagnosis notes, and close the WO when the job is done.
Pass or fail: Mark each inspection item and review the result summary
Photo evidence: Attach repair photos and keep them with the inspection record
Repair notes: Draft repair details from a photo, then review the text
Report actions: View the PDF report or create a follow-up work order

Run pre-shift and post-shift inspection checklists on mobile. Mark pass/fail, add photos for flagged items, and submit. The results go straight to the equipment manager.
Inspection checks: Mark each item as pass or fail from your phone
Fault context: See fault codes beside the check that needs repair
Flagged photos: Attach photos to flagged items for the equipment manager
Meter reading: Log equipment hours with the same inspection record
Repair link: Open the linked work order or export the PDF report

Look up parts in the Clue catalog, see what is in stock at the shop, and log what you pulled for each repair. Clue ties every part cost to the work order automatically.
Parts request: Select several parts and add them to the work order
Stock location: See where each part is stored and what is on hand
Part source: See whether a part comes from inventory or a vendor
Order status: Follow each part from requested to ordered to received
Repair cost: Keep part quantities and costs tied to the work order

Before you start a repair, see every previous WO for that machine: what was fixed, when, and what it cost. Know if this is a recurring problem or a first-time failure.
Repair history: Review past work orders for the machine before starting
Work source: See whether service began from maintenance, a fault, or an inspection
Repair timeline: Track each work order from creation through completion
Audit trail: View the mechanic, labor, parts, and time stamps for each update

No cell signal? Clue's offline mode lets you complete WOs, inspections, and notes in the field. Everything syncs automatically when you are back in coverage.
Field work: Open assigned work orders when the jobsite has no signal
Labor hours: Log shift times, hours, and repair details in the app
Repair notes: Save field notes with the work order for later sync
Back in range: Sync completed work once the device is back in coverage

Common questions
What can mechanics do in the Clue app?
Mechanics can view and complete work orders, log labor and parts, attach photos, run inspection checklists, access machine repair history, and submit completed jobs, all from iOS or Android.
Can mechanics request parts directly in Clue?
Yes. Mechanics can look up parts in the catalog, check on-hand stock, and log parts used per work order. Parts requests can be flagged for shop manager approval.
Who assigns work orders to mechanics?
Work orders are assigned by the shop manager or equipment manager. Mechanics see their queue in priority order on the app.
Do operators submit repair requests through Clue too?
Yes. Operators use the same Clue app to submit breakdown reports and repair requests from the field. These flow into the shop's WO queue automatically.
Can mechanics save frequently used work orders for faster access?
Yes. Mechanics can mark work orders as favorites in the Clue app so the jobs they work on most often are always quick to find, cutting down time spent navigating the queue every shift.
Can mechanics log their hours directly inside a work order?
Yes. Time is logged from inside the work order itself, not in a separate timecard screen. Hours link to the WO automatically so labor costs are tracked without any extra steps.
Does the Clue app work without the internet on the job site?
Yes. Clue has offline mode for mechanics working in areas with limited signal. Completed work order updates, parts logs, and inspection results sync automatically once connectivity is restored.
