Overview

After creating a geofence, you may need to adjust its boundaries as job sites change. Learn how to modify geofence shapes, rename them, and delete ones no longer needed.

Selecting a Geofence to Edit

Step 1: Navigate to DIRECTORY → Geofence.

Step 2: Find the geofence in the list or on the map.

Step 3: Click on the geofence to select it.

Adjusting Boundaries

With the geofence selected:

  • Drag corners - Move boundary points to new locations
  • Add points - Click on edge to add new vertices
  • Remove points - Right-click a point to delete it
  • Move entire shape - Drag the center to relocate

Renaming a Geofence

Step 1: Select the geofence.

Step 2: Click on the name field in the detail panel.

Step 3: Enter the new name.

Step 4: Save changes.

Deleting a Geofence

Step 1: Select the geofence.

Step 2: Click Delete or the trash icon.

Step 3: Confirm deletion.

Note: Deleting is permanent. Historical data showing assets in this geofence will be affected.

Best Practices

  • Update boundaries when project sites expand or change
  • Remove outdated geofences to keep the list clean
  • Use descriptive names that match your project naming

  • Zoom in for precise boundary adjustments
  • Include parking and staging areas in site boundaries
  • Test alerts after making changes
