Creating Equipment Requests

Overview

Equipment Requests let field teams request specific equipment for their projects. Request what you need, and resource managers can review and fulfill the requests through dispatch.

Step 1: Navigate to Requests

Go to Resource Planner > Requests in the sidebar. The page shows tabs for Assets and People requests.

The status bar shows request counts: Cancelled, Filled, Open, Drafts, and Requested.

Step 2: Click New Request

Click the blue New Request button in the top-right corner. The Create New Request form opens.

Step 3: Fill Out the Form

Request Details (Required)

  • Asset Type* - What type of equipment you need (Excavator, Loader, etc.)
  • Project* - Which project needs the equipment
  • Qty* - How many units you need (default is 1)
  • From* - When you need the equipment
  • Until* - When you'll return the equipment

Optional Details

  • Product Class - Specific classification within the asset type
  • Dropoff Location - Where to deliver the equipment
  • Contact Person - Who to contact on site
  • Contact Phone Number - Phone for delivery coordination
  • Notes - Special requirements or instructions

Step 4: Submit the Request

Click Submit to send your request. It will appear in the Requests list with "Requested" status.

Request Status Flow

Requests move through these statuses:

  • Drafts - Saved but not submitted
  • Requested - Submitted, awaiting review
  • Open - Approved, being processed
  • Filled - Equipment has been assigned
  • Cancelled - Request cancelled

Tips

  • Include contact info to help with delivery coordination
  • Be specific about asset type and product class to get the right equipment
  • Add notes about access restrictions or delivery timing
  • Submit requests early to allow time for fulfillment
