What is CAT Code 4576-3:

CAT 4576-3 is a high-voltage fault in the aftertreatment injector circuit. The injector is receiving more voltage than it should, which may lead to injector overheating or failure.

Why This Happens

  • Short to power in wiring harness.
  • Faulty injector solenoid pulling excess current.
  • Overvoltage from alternator or ECM.
  • Poor ground path increasing circuit load.

How to Fix It

  1. Inspect wiring and connectors for shorts.
  2. Test injector resistance with a multimeter.
  3. Replace injector if internal short is detected.
  4. Check voltage at injector plug under load.
  5. Clear the fault and verify dosing stability.

How to Avoid It Before It Happens

  1. Monitor dosing system voltage during regen.
  2. Secure injector wiring from contact with metal parts.
  3. Log injector replacements and service life.
