Head of Sales at Clue (getclue.com) | 100% Remote | Construction-Tech SaaS Startup, PE-backed

We're looking for an exceptional Head of Sales to spearhead our sales efforts.

Clue is a fast-growing, profitable SaaS construction technology company targeting the $2 trillion heavy construction industry.

The ideal candidate will have a robust background in software sales, particularly in SaaS, with a keen understanding of the construction industry or similar sectors. This role is pivotal in scaling Clue’s market presence through our innovative equipment management software.

This role is 100% remote, based in the United States (ideally, in Eastern or Central timezone).


Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Quota Management: Take full responsibility for achieving overall sales quotas. Implement strategies to ensure team-wide success in sales targets.
  • Team Leadership: Currently leading a team of two, you will play a pivotal role in quickly expanding this team over the next 12 months, oversee the recruitment, training, evaluation, and if necessary, termination of the sales team, and cultivate a high-performing sales culture.
  • Performance Monitoring: Regularly track and report on sales metrics. Use this data to make informed decisions and strategy adjustments. Create and improve sales scripts and sales materials.
  • Continuous Training: Provide ongoing training and support to the sales team, ensuring they are up-to-date with the latest sales techniques and product knowledge.
  • Sales Strategy: Analyze the company's current sales strengths and weaknesses within the first 30 days. Suggest and implement changes to the sales structure, incentives, and processes within the first 90 days.


Requirements:

  • Sales Achievement: At least 3 years experience managing and exceeding sales quotas, ideally over $1 million, demonstrating relentless passion to exceed sales targets.
  • Professional Experience: Must have prior experience as a Sales Development Representative (SDR) and an Account Executive (AE).
  • Industry Experience: Background in software sales is essential, with a preference for candidates experienced in SaaS. Experience in the construction industry, or related fields like manufacturing and transportation, is highly desirable.
  • Relationship Building: Engage and represent Clue with senior executives at enterprises with revenues of $1-5 billion, necessitating high-level negotiation and superior relationship-building skills.
  • Presentation Skills: Proven experience in delivering effective trade show presentations.
  • Technology Proficiency: Skilled in using sales technologies such as Hubspot and ZoomInfo.
  • Travel Requirements: Expect three 2-4 day business trips in Q1 and one 2-4 day trip in subsequent quarters for trade shows and customer meetings.


Expectations:

  • First 30 Days: Focus on analyzing and providing insights on the company's sales practices. Offer support and constructive feedback to the sales team.
  • First 60 Days: Achieve comprehensive understanding of Clue's products and the market. Start representing the company effectively in external engagements.
  • First 90 Days: Develop and begin the implementation of changes to enhance the company's sales structure, incentives, and processes. Align these with the overall business strategy.

Benefits:

  • Competitive Salary: $105,000-$120,000 base, with uncapped performance-based incentives, target OTE $210,000-240,000.

We're looking for a Sales Development Representative (SDR) to join our sales team.

Clue is a fast-growing, profitable SaaS construction technology company targeting the $2 trillion heavy construction industry.

The ideal candidate will generate outbound sales leads, and serve as the initial touchpoint with potential clients, working alongside our AEs and Head of Sales.

This role is 100% remote, based in the United States (ideally, in Eastern or Central timezone).


Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate, research and qualify sales leads in the heavy civil construction space (sub-contractors and owners of heavy construction equipment)
  • Initiate communications from the first touchpoint through closing deals with the aid of our co-founders, account executives, and project managers
  • Follow and improve sales scripts for phone, email, and social media channels
  • Be extremely organizaed and use our CRM tools to document all communications
  • Typically once a quarter or so, attend trade shows and sales conferences in the US or Canada


Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of experience as SDR with proven track records of exceeding sales quotas of qualified sales presenations.
  • Relentless passion to generate sales leads
  • Background in software sales is essential, with a preference for candidates experienced in SaaS. Experience in the construction industry, or related fields like manufacturing and transportation, is highly desirable.
  • Experience with Hubspot, Zoominfo and other sales tools
  • Interest in a fully remote job and the self-drive required to work effectively without being based in an office.


Expectations:

  • First 30 Days: Achieve comprehensive understanding of Clue's products and the market, and start conducting sales calls
  • First 60 Days: Hold full quota of qualified sales presentations.

 

Benefits:

  • Competitive Salary: $50,000-$55,000 base, with uncapped performance-based incentives of closing qualified sales presentations, target OTE $80,000.
