What is MID 107:

MID 107 refers to an issue with the Engine Oil Pressure Sensor Circuit. The ECM has detected an abnormal signal from the oil pressure sensor, which could lead to improper oil pressure readings and affect engine lubrication and performance.

Why This Happens:

  • Faulty oil pressure sensor.
  • Shorted or damaged wiring in the sensor circuit.
  • Corroded or loose sensor connectors.
  • Low oil pressure due to a malfunctioning oil pump.
  • ECM failure to interpret the sensor’s data.

How to Fix It:

  1. Inspect the oil pressure sensor for visible damage or malfunction.
  2. Test the sensor’s voltage and resistance to ensure it matches specifications.
  3. Check the wiring and connectors for damage, corrosion, or loose connections.
  4. Replace the faulty oil pressure sensor if necessary.
  5. Ensure the oil system is properly pressurized and the oil pump is functioning correctly.

How to Avoid It Before It Happens:

  • Regularly inspect the oil pressure sensor and its wiring.
  • Perform routine oil system maintenance.
  • Keep connectors clean and corrosion-free.
  • Perform diagnostic checks to monitor oil pressure.
  • Clue’s Equipment Maintenance services track oil pressure and help prevent failures from affecting engine lubrication.
